To become a seller on any platform, you need to provide specific documentation to ensure your business is legally compliant and eligible to operate. Incomplete or incorrect documentation can make you ineligible to sell.
In this article, we'll explain what are the reasons that a seller can get rejected and how you can fix it.
What a rejection means
Almost every reason below is a problem relating to the document you have uploaded and you can fix it and resubmit the same day.
noon checks your Commercial Registration (trade licence), your Tax Registration, your Business Representative ID and your payout method. Problems come back as one of two statuses:
Rejected — your legal entity is not approved, and you cannot sell until it is fixed.
Needs attention — you can keep selling, but something will break if you leave it, usually your payments.
Finding your reason
- Log in to the Seller Lab, open the left navigation, and click Store management, then click Legal.

- Then open the tab in your legal entity with the red alert.

Reasons that prevent you from selling
These reasons usually cause a Rejected status on your legal entity.
Commercial Registration (trade licence)
Reason | How to fix it |
|---|
Issuing authority, licence number, company name, address, issue date or expiry date does not match attached document — what you typed is not identical to the licence you uploaded. | Retype the field exactly as printed. The licence number must match character for character, including slashes and dashes. |
Attached document is not the Commercial Registration — the file is not a government-issued trade licence, or it could not be authenticated. | Upload the official licence — not a renewal receipt, summary page or screenshot. |
Attached document is cropped — the scan cuts off information the reviewer needs. | Re-scan the full document showing issuing authority, licence number, company name, issue date, expiry date and activities. |
Commercial Registration should have a minimum validity of 30 days — your licence expires too soon to register with. | Renew it, then upload the renewed licence. |
Please share a Commercial Registration that clearly displays all contents, including the trading activity — the trading activities are not visible. | Upload a copy showing the activity list in full. |
Commercial Registration must permit trading, selling, or manufacturing, or should be an E-Commerce license — your licence only permits rendering services. | Register with a licence listing General Trading, Sales, Manufacturing, Distribution, Wholesale, E-commerce or Retail. |
Duplicate licence number — the licence number you entered is already registered under another account. To prevent fraudulent registrations, the same number cannot be used twice. | Check that you entered your own licence number correctly. If it is correct and the rejection stands, email Seller Support at seller@noon.com. |
Tax Registration
Reason | How to fix it |
|---|
Tax registration number, issue date or expiry date does not match attached document — what you typed does not match the certificate. | Retype the field exactly as printed on the certificate. |
Company name for VAT does not match the Commercial Registration — the name on your VAT certificate must exactly match the name on your trade licence. | Check both documents. If they genuinely differ, email Seller Support at seller@noon.com before resubmitting. |
Attached document is not the Tax Registration — not the official certificate, or it could not be authenticated. | Upload the certificate issued by the tax authority. |
Attached document is cropped — the scan misses required fields. | Re-scan showing company name, dates, tax registration number and any authenticity QR code. |
Your VAT Registration Certificate is not valid for the marketplace you have selected to operate on — you have not declared your VAT status in that country. | Declare it. Either answer works — registered or not registered — but it has to be declared. |
As an International Seller, you should be VAT Registered in the country you have selected to operate in | Provide the VAT certificate for that country. Sellers in mainland China and Hong Kong are exempt. |
Business Representative
Reason | How to fix it |
|---|
Name does not match attached document — the name you typed does not match the ID you uploaded. | Retype it exactly as it appears on the ID. |
Name does not match the Commercial Registration or Power of Attorney — the representative must be an owner named on the trade licence. | If you are not named on the licence, upload a Power of Attorney showing your authority to act for the owner. |
Attached document is not the Business Representative document — the ID type is not accepted. | A passport works everywhere. Also accepted: Emirates ID or UAE national ID, Iqama or Saudi national ID, Egyptian national ID, Chinese resident ID. |
Attached document is cropped — the scan does not show the whole ID. | For a passport, the entire bio-data page. For any other ID, front and back. Name and expiry date must be readable. |
The identification document provided should have a minimum validity of 15 days — the ID has expired or is about to. | Renew it, or submit the ID of another person named on the trade licence. |
Reasons that need attention
The reasons given below trigger a Needs attention status on your legal entity. You can keep selling, but most of them stop you from getting paid.
Reason | How to fix it |
|---|
Your Commercial Registration has expired — you were approved with a licence that has since lapsed, and payments are blocked. | Upload the renewed licence to resume payouts. |
Your Tax Registration has expired — no immediate effect. Only Egyptian tax documents carry an expiry date; UAE and Saudi ones do not. | Upload the renewed certificate. |
No payout method added — you cannot be paid until you add one. | Add a payout method. |
Payout method not linked to an origin — approved, but not attached to a selling origin, so you cannot be paid. | Link it to the origin you sell from, and make sure every origin on your legal entity has a payout method. |
Beneficiary name, bank name, IBAN or SWIFT code does not match the attached document | Retype the field exactly as it appears on the document. |
Beneficiary name does not match the Commercial Registration — the account must be held by an owner listed on your trade licence. | Use an account in that name, or email Seller Support at seller@noon.com if your situation differs. |
Attached document is not the Payment Method document — the file is not an accepted proof of bank details. | Upload a cancelled cheque, your bank details on the bank's letterhead signed and stamped, or a bank statement. Outside the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Egypt, a Payoneer or Lian Lian authorisation letter signed and stamped with your company seal is also accepted. |
Attached document is cropped — the document does not show all the details. | Re-scan showing account holder name, bank name, IBAN and SWIFT code. |
Attached document is password protected — the reviewer cannot open an encrypted file. | Remove the password and upload it again. |
Before you resubmit for approval
Fix every reason listed, not just the first one.
Check each field against the document character by character.
Make sure every scan is complete, readable, and not password-protected.
Check that your licence and your ID are valid well beyond the day you submit.
If the reason still does not match what you uploaded, email Seller Support at seller@noon.com with the exact wording and the document it was raised against.
That’s it!
